Modern Warfare 2 is the latest  Call of Duty game released by Infinity Ward. The game is due to be released early november 2009 and is set to be one of the biggest Call Of Duty games yet.  The games producers ‘infinity’ announced on Febuary 11th, 2009 that the game will be due for release November 10, 2009 and will be published by Activision. Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and it will continue the storyline, although it does not carry the Call Of Duty series title.

The Modern Warfare 2 storyline is set a few years after Call Of Duty 4 and sergeant “soap” (the main character from Call Of Duty 4) returns as a non-playable character and is now a captain in the special air service. MacTavish leads an elite, multinational commando unit, to counter a Russian organization. The organization is led by Vladimir Makarov, a former associate of Imran Zakhaev, who has been portraying Zakhaev’s death as an act of martyrdom to gain support for his cause. He has built a strong power base in Russia over the years and in response MacTavish and his elite unit has been given the task to stop him. Missions are held in the mountains of Russia, an Afghanistan desert and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
