Mothercare
Seeding of Mothercare started as back as in 1950 by Selim Zilkha. Selim Zilkha, a US citizen, who had served in World War II in US armed forces, was in search of some other business in Britain. Initially he had to face many failures and hurdles. But he was never discouraged. Some time in 1960 he bought WJ Harris stores. WH Harris was a chain of 50 stores of traditional baby carriages and nursery furniture. Selim Zilkha changed its name to Mothercare. The company became public in the year 1972. History of Mothercare is that of mergers and takeovers.
